Default Gank Fests

How about an explorable area/town/district every weekend is assigned as a gankfest or something for the hell of it. Like say wandering out to North Kryta Province and you could choose to enter the explorable area with a team to get places or enter a complete gank fest in the area filled with enemy people and monsters?

Or a district in a town or number of towns is assigned as this so people could randomly kill each other in it. No losses, no griefing, just pure havok and fun for all.

i like the pure havok it'd be cool i think, it'd be kind of hard to get things running smoothly unless they had like cap on how many people could fight at one time because then there would be a lot of lag

Well yeah I'm guessing it'd be half the allowed people in normal town districts or something. Explorable areas are huge anyway so the cap would probably be bigger.

God that would be great. I would LOVE that. I mean GW just lacks surprises and totally insane things. The storyline is boring. UW is boring. SF got boring fast. It was just another area I didn't care for.

Great idea, although it kind of takes the "gank" out of gank if you know where the gank is going to occur at.

If the places were to be listed, then it would just turn into a silly free-for-all in a single spot instead of a gank fest.

Better modification of this idea is to allow players to gank other players in random places.

Heck, Diablo II has that ability and it can really add a sense of danger to the game knowing any mean players may come and hunt you down at any time.

Guild Wars would definitely benefit from this.

I would quit GW so fast it isn't funny if they did D2 style PK system. It's nothing but a tool for bullies.

Agreed. This whole thing would be to promote mindless fun. Nothing gained (except DP), nothing lost (except HP) and all out chaos.

??? you mean skill balances. Personally I'm talking about Surprises in the storyline and something like the syko dwarven ale party. Like gwen killing everyone in betas and things of that nature.

I say the devs put in some code that would open up anyone who uses the general chat for selling or buying to being ganked. So, anyone who uses WTB/WTS or any variation in the general chat window would then activate the code allowing anyone in that same district to beat on them PvP style. The code should also block any attempt to zone out of that district until they get their ganking.

To prevent accidental ganking, everyone would still be free to use the Trade channel or the team/whisper channels to conduct their business.
